The Mummy 2017: Release date, trailer, cast and latest news on Tom Cruise horror reboot express.co.uk
TOM CRUISE stars in a new version of horror hit The Mummy, set to be released in cinemas in 2017. The film is a fresh take on the classic Mummy franchise set in the modern day.
Producers have teased: “Though safely entombed in a crypt deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia, and terrors that defy human comprehension.”
Tom Cruise leads the cast as Nick Morton, who appears to be a paramilitary soldier. The actor performed most of his own stunts, and even suggested that the film use a zero-gravity plane for a crash sequence.
Algerian newcomer Sofia Boutella stars as Princess Ahmanet, the titular Mummy who Nick must defeat.
X Men: First Class actress Anabelle Wallis plays Nick’s sidekick and potential love interest Jenny Halsey, while New Girl’s Jake Johnson and The People v OJ Simpson actor Courtney B Vance play military officers.
